Why do I need WD?

My Silverado receiver is labeled at 2,000 Weight distributing or Weight Carrying, exactly the same as the manual. Why would you think that they would disagree? As noted, GM and Ford have revised their thinking on Weight Distributing in the past few years. It may be because pickups are now a lot different than they "used to be", but I doubt it.
