Before I left for Full Timing this last Fall I weighed EVERYTHING that went into the trailer AFTER weighing the trailer and truck.
With everything we could think to take and all that we needed and more I still only put about 650 LBS in the trailer.
This didnt bring me anywhere near it's net capacity.
Weigh your trailer with full tanks (Propane NOT water) then Load it.
Weigh yourself on a bathroom scale and note it.
I weighed it all either in my arms as I carried it out or by putting it on a bathroom scale. It's easy and takes the guesswork out.
Contrary to what most beleive I think most people OVER estimate the amount of weight they put into a trailer.
Too much is made of all the "numbers" it is a simple problem; after loading all of your stuff, people and dogs into your rig weigh it and then dont exceed the "net" capacity. For most trailers there should be plenty to accommodate anything you will ever need to bring. And if your tow vehicle is big enough there will be no problem.
Also keep in mind that ALL of these "numbers" have safety factors built in.
