Unless we're talking about a golf cart, a full tank of freshwater, or something else out of the norm, I just don't see how our clothes, our food, and even our cooking items can even exceed 500 lbs..
I think if you weigh your stuff that you put in the trailer you will find you are correct. My gueess is most people far over estimate the weight they have put in the trailer.
And then this has become something of an indisputable "MYth" here on this forum. Most admit to not weighing what they put into the trailer.
To me it's just common sense to do so at the start so you have an idea how much stuff weighs what.
