Such timing...here is one thread where the OP went as many here recommend
and did NOT use their ratings...now they are looking at getting
another TV...but these come up all the time...just this thread and
the hot linked thread below are right next to each other
Their original TV was a 2005 Duramax Dually and could not get their new
toyhauler home without having to stop along the way to allow it to
get out of limp mode...
That OP is luck to have the resources to consider getting another TV,
which might cost them thousands to tens of thousands more...
I'll continue to recommend using the ratings as the basis, until they
have a chance to actually weigh it...
An assumption...with 4 small kids, think they had a crew and then
wonder what options/after-market/etc stuff they also had in/on their TV...

Thanks for all of the replies, after doing a bunch of research and coming up with the answer that the truck might be able to pull it, we went for it and purchased toy hauler. This may have seemed like a foolish choice but really several things that we read said that the truck could do it and of course the dealer said it would be just fine! ( yeah if I had actually checked back on this post we may not have made that decision, but things are extremely hectic right now as we prepare to move and I have four small children and I homeschool them) 10 miles down the road that transmission went into limp mode and it took us twice as long to get home, stopping several times to get the truck out of limp mode. So now we are in the process of looking for another truck! Live and learn!! Thanks again for all of their responses and sharing the information that we needed.
I'd have to go back and look at all the posts but really, it surprises me that someone would advise to ignore ratings. Was it on a different thread. This thread didn't have much to do with towing capacity but rather the advantages of high GVWR over low GVWR for a trailer.
Whats the link to the other thread. Sounds like an interesting read.
