Why no ignitor on RV stove?

I agree that it's weird. There isn't an extra knob to spark the igniters? We've had to replace the individual igniters when they pooped out on the burners. Have you lifted the stove cover too peek and make sure?

The oven bugs me. I don't know why you manually have to light the pilot instead of having an igniter.

Our first toy hauler (2005 Weekend Warrior) didn't even have an oven because the factory that made some component burned down or something. I had to buy one aftermarket for my wife for Christmas a year later.

I can't imagine why your stove wouldn't have them.

Just posted because I remembered when I needed a lighter in the shop and the closest one was the bbq lighter in the camper used for the stupid stove!

We have a 2021 Coachmen Mirada and it has an igniter that will light the burners and the oven pilot.

Perhaps a new feature or something on “higher end” coaches?

I have a battery one on my 2019 Rockwood.. It's for the burners. Not sure if it also does the oven, as I've never used it, except to store the cast iron pans I use..

I don't really even use the stove top, except to purge the air out of the lines, and then I just use a BBQ clicker thing.

When the battery is in the one on the stove and you lean against it to reach the upper cabinets, it starts sparking and such.. Anyway, not a high end unit by any means..

I guess I can understand the reasoning behind not having a standing pilot for the stove burners (that would best be turned off when underway, and relit when stopped), and somewhat for not needing an electrical connection--either 12V or 120V--for that sort of ignitor. But a little piezo sparker that some have makes a lot of sense, and is convenient. I guess they need some feature to differentiate between cooktop models.

That's my guess too. The igniter cost plus the extra tubing to each grate.

Mine had an ignitor. worked well on 2 out of 3 burners. Yup the main big one was the failed one) Since I grew up without that or a pilot light I got around it. But you can add one... Go to a BBQ shop or department they have push button ones you may need more than one.

Our old Fuzion had the piezo electric clacker, which I replaced with a battery operated BBQ ignitor, and added the extra line for the oven pilot light at the same time. Sure beat standing on your head trying to hold the oven knob in while trying to light the pilot light.

Our present Momentum 351M, had the piezo electric clacker, but it also ignites the oven pilot light too. We may keep these if they continue to work well.

Our cooktop has an igniter that only works when plugged into shore power or when running the generator. Each burner knob activates the igniter when you push in and then turn the knob.
