Very similar thing happened at a renaissance faire I was going to a few years ago. On a patron's pop-up, their heater caught fire on some bedding, and because of the 16 ounce propane bottles stored inside, it made a nice crater. Thankfully, nobody was hurt, and their rig was far enough away that it didn't spread far once the firefighters put it out.
