People ask questions on forums. If they wanted to google the answer or call someone on the phone for an answer, they would have. Instead they ask here first. If another person has a good answer, great, post it. But saying "go look it up" or "go call someone" is not really going to be perceived by the OP as helpful. This should be readily apparent.
My feeling is, if a member has a good answer, post it. If a member wants to joke around, ok, but make it very plain (with emoticons or something) that it's supposed to be a joke. If a member thinks the OP should go look somewhere else for the answer, it would be a kindness to not say so.
