Why were all the RV's left in the flood?

Some people work for a living. You don't take off for every cloud formation. The closer it gets your time is spent talking care off home and family.

I am sure reasons vary. Maybe no time to hook up. My RV is always my plan B in case of emergency

We need the actual owners to post....

No one has mentioned RV dealer, do you think that they had time to move the inventory?

Well most of the campers where I was during Matthew did not take the RV north with them either. And Unlike Texas Georgia has a GOOD evacuation plan.

So you have ask a valid question.. Had it not been for a mechanical issue (I COULD not drive this house then) (Can now) I'd have been slightly rewriting a Country Western song

Gone like yesterday
Going like someone who does not like a hurricane.
Gone..

Well you get the idea.

I'm sure there were also plenty of people who moved their RV's and other property CLOSER to the flood area!

Hopefully, insurance will cover the losses. I've already heard that residents homeowners insurance will deny coverage because it was an event caused by mother nature. People needed federal flood insurance. Even people with federal flood insurance will find it takes years and years to get s settlement.
People in Houston and Louisiana are in for a long and frustrating period of time I'm afraid.

I agree. However, loosing their RVs to the flood waters is most likely the least of their concerns and worries.

Asking a question like this topic, could be the beginning of an amateur pundit reality show.
Everyone has the answer without knowing all the facts. :@

A lot of those parks in the coastal areas are used as seasonals for the summertime and the rv's are left there with the owners coming on occasional weekends and vacations. The park we stayed at last winter had that for summer and many of those people lived 3 or more hours drive away. Some also live in Houston where they knew it would flood and in communities where they are not allowed to park the rv. Where would they take it with a Hurricane coming?

Because some people are jerks trying to rip off the system, and some people are idiots that think nothing bad will ever happen to them.

Some people simpley couldn't help it and had to leave it behind.

There was a lot of advanced warning to this system coming. Every warning I heard said that the rain was going to be a bigger problem then the storm itself. Maybe some people didn't realize that there RV was in a area that could flood. It can be difficult to tell the flood areas when a storm is coming that is this HUGE with this much rain.
