Thanks guys - some very helpful information.
The field guides I have looked at are too big & detailed for me for a short trip. I have a good knowledge of UK & European plants so figured that a laminated pamphlet - specifically for Coastal Pacific BC - would do the trick. I am wise enough not to touch fungi I don't know (Do you have chanterelles, Cantharellus cibarius, in BC?), and will only pick berries that I know or have seen other people eat. From what I can see on the web there are a lot of leaves & flowers (weeds) that are common in Scotland and in BC, so hopefully we will add some good flavours to our salads. Not sure about seaweed, shellfish etc - will probably stick to purchasing to be safe, but hope the OH will catch plenty of salmon, trout etc to make a licence worthwhile.

Have fun in Canada.
Request a double double with 6 TimBits. You'll have that figured out soon enough.
Ahhh, Tim Horton's! I miss Tim :(
Thanks 2112
I was trying hard, but would never have guessed - haven't spent enough time in Canada.
