The water softener was what helped to brake up/dissolve your problem. The ice might have made you feel better.

So say's you. Now prove it.
Did you watch the video? You can't get the ice to move around enough to do anything. the other thing if you have water in the tank, now think about it, where is the stuck on poo and where is the ice? The water softener will do the job along with several commercial tank additives. If you believe that ice will work I will sell you ice.:B :)

Yeah I have watched all of his video's. Doesn't prove a thing in the real world.
I go by what worked for me. Tried backflushing, no go. Tried using the wand down the toilet, nothing. Put in about 20-25 lbs. of ice when leaving the campground and when we got to the next stop at the end of the day, everything was flowing fine again.
I agree 100%, the video is not a replication of real world!!!
I had a bad black tank when we bought our Copper Canyon.
I first put in about 10 gals. of hot water and water softer and let it set over night.
Then on the way out the next day stopped at a convenience store and bought about 14# of ice tossed it in and headed out.
It made a huge improvement, took about twice to get really good results.
