Spent a very sleepless spring night at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado Springs, CO a few years ago. Popup in 50+ mile winds was quite the experience I don't care to repeat...
We boondock in the open desert and have been often caught camping in high wind conditions. When I had a TT, I would park the TV upwind to act as a break. With the MH, I move the coach so it is facing the wind or park it in the wind shadow of someone elses rig.
Been there, done that, only it was in central Nebraska a few years ago. 50+ mph gusts. We wisely decided not to travel that day, just spent an extra day in camp.
