Glad to hear you survived winter. I'd love to hear what you think of Elephant Butte if you get the chance to get out. We will be going by there towards the end of May.
I know what you mean regarding the choppy lakes . . .the other day I went out on a lake called Clarks Hill just north of Augusta GA, 20mph gusting to 35mph. I swear the the swells at times were at least 3 feet. It was like I forgot how to windsurf. After an hour and half I limped to shore exhausted and defeated. Key west made me soft--perhaps I should seek slackercruster's help with fitness? ;)
