Winter Destination

Interested in different areas for a winter destination for 1 to 3 months. Using a 34 foot 5th wheel. We are not into the resort living and would prefer a rural setting close to fishing, an archery range, and maybe some hiking. Would like more secluded sites not right on top of each other. Would want hookups but dont need a whole bunch of ammenities. What would you recommend? Thanks
  • Google Rockport, TX! Lots of RV parks to choose from. Great beaches, bays, seafood, kayaking, and fishing! It is also very reasonable. We wintered there for 5 years and liked it so much we moved here! We are at Bahia Vista RV Park on Copano Bay. PM us if have any questions.
  • There are all kinds of small RV parks all over Southern NM, AZ, TX. Two that meet your criteria are Lil Abners RV park near Caballo Lake, NM and Leesburg Dam state park in Radium Springs, NM. I could go on and on but you can find your own using google maps and search for lakes in the Southwest and then check out the region around them. Del Rio, TX is another target rich environment if you want to be near a one Wal Mart size town.
  • Sorry, didn't say what area. I am looking for the Southwest.
  • Thanks keep them coming. Anything in Nevada or Arizona.

Interesting. I see rates on their website. Do those rates go up in the winter or are they the same? Is it hard to get a spot in the winter? Do you stay there in the summer, or do you travel part of the year? Have you ever looked at the South Padre Island area? If you don't want to answer in public you can send us a PM.
