After all the work and effort in getting my 5th wheel back up to snuff I'm not sure I want to leave it outside all winter here in SW PA. I replaced a section of the sidewall, new cooling unit on frig, new awning, and a new vinyl plank floor.
I found two maybe three underground storage facilities that cost wise seem reasonable but never having stored in a limestone mine before was wondering what to be concerned about. The temperature stays around 52 degrees all year round. There appears that there is more humidity in the mine. Don't know about rodents or anything else.
Has anyone stored their RV in an underground limestone mine before? What advice can you provide?
Here are the three places:
Toy's Underground Storage
Brady's Bend Underground Storage
Wampum Underground Warehouse
Has anyone ever used on of these places? Were you happy or not? Would you do it again?
If anyone knows of any other protected storage around the Pittsburgh PA area please let me know.
Thanks!
Dave
In my part of the country, we also have an enormous underground facility. These are a few of the things that made me steer clear !
1. Must have all propane professionally drained from system.
2. They park your unit and store it themselves. (don't like someone taking my coach ,parking it and not sure whether or not it is shutdown properly.
3. No jacks down.
4. Comes back covered in a layer of sandstone dust !
I will be looking for something different, but it sure would be nice to not have to winterize for a coucle of months !
