Winterizing

I am putting my motorhome to bed for the year. It has a Cat engine in it. I am thinking about pulling the batteries and storing them in my barn shop for the winter. Is this a good idea or should I just hook them up to the battery tenders and leave them in the coach?

  • If it were mine I'd either hook them to the tender or just disconnect them and charge each a couple hours every month or 2 with a small charger,if I was worried. In my opinion the main thing is to disconnect them if you aren't charging them. Also disconnect one from the other if one goes bad it won't kill the good one. If they are good batteries they'll be ok.
