Check the concessioner at the large National Parks. Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone have lodging for hired help. Other may also.

Some Fish and Wildlife have bunkhouse shared accommodations depending on availability as well as other Federal Agencies.

Funny....we did this one for 3 seasons!! :) It was an awesome opportunity to live on South Manitou Island.

I see more listings for tent campground host positions from small USFS campgrounds. But be aware that many campgrounds in remote western national forests require hosts to be in hard-sided campers, should you have big furry ursine visitors.
