working in alaska

I am still working out all the details of my trip to alaska so with that said I would like to plan on staying in the Fairbanks area from winter to spring. What kind of jobs have people noticed up there, if any during the winter? maybe a few months doing dihes 25 hours a week, something to just keep me busy and social and sane.
