Sell it and move on. No questions asked. It's not your responsibility to make sure they are safe drivers, that their tow vehicle is in good working condition, that they know how to tow, etc. I would have sold it in a heart beat without asking a question. It's their job to decide what tow vehicle they want to use. Foe all I know they were going to upgrade later.
