Wow, I had no idea that some people look at a social conscience as a drawback. Somehow I feel that if I have the ability to prevent someone from doing something stupid, I should act on it. If I see that guy start to step out in front of a car I'll say something instead of just figuring "He's a big boy, he'll figure it out", "Oops, guess not".
