True. Ask anyone who's sold a perfectly good house to someone only to watch them tear it down and build a monstrosity. Happened to my pal in Palo Alto - beautiful house, they tore it down and put up something that looked like a three-story warehouse. Not illegal, but stupid from my perspective.
