We've heard from all quarters. The lawyers, engineers, safety experts, accident investigators, moralists, judges, etc.
If it were me and I was concerned enough with the original situation to post it here then I'd also be concerned enough not to sell it to them. Subsequent information changed that. So be it. Mental and emotional comfort is really the only limiting factor here. The rest is speculation and outhouse lawyering.
Honestly, I don't know how some of you get through the day with all the overthinking going on.
I do commend the OP for his/her concern. Very refreshing. But at the same time I would not condemn anyone who sold it right away with a short verbal reminder about towing safety.
