I have a nice Chalet Alpine, a hardside Aframe trailer, weighs 1500#.
A very nice couple wants to buy it. They're not that common where I'm at, though the Aliners are easier to find.
Problem is, they have a car rated to tow only 1500# (Honda Element).
In all of those posts I didn't see anyone question WHY an Element is rated to tow 1,500 pounds.
Did an engineer set that limit? Or a product liability lawyer? Or the bean-counter who doesn't want a bunch of warranty claims?
Case in point, a couple of years back my cousin in Europe and I both had exactly the same SUV, well exactly the same except mine was rated for 5,000 pounds trailer capacity, his was rated for 7,500 pounds.
Musta bin that metric gravity and physics they have over in Yerp
