These guys are in their 60s. I think I'll let them do the test drive and take it from there. I thought towing weight was car contents and trailer, but since being set straight on that, I did read some things about the Honda Element and it said that in Australia the same car has a tow weight of 3000#, which I question, but maybe they can pull it off.

No Honda Elements sold in Australia, usually similar looking vehicles do have different specifications. i e Jeep Wrangler has a diesel here
