I will "downgrade" to day-trips before I go back to tent camping!
Besides, in my childhood, we didn't have a tent. We had a tarp and a ground cloth, with homemade quilts. We tied a 3 to 4 inch diameter lodgepole pine log between two trees, about 5 to 6 feet off the ground, and hung the tarp on it. That was our shelter from the rain and the sun. It was fun when I was 9 years old, but I sure don't want to do it now!
