Cam you tow it SAFELY? NO WAY
....and why not? As long as the OP remains within the TVs ratings and it is set up properly with a good hitch then there is no reason why it couldn't be done safely. Not everyone needs a 1 ton dually.
Are there better vehicles out there? Sure. Will the OP want more? Maybe. Only way to know for sure is to give it a try. Every one has a different level of comfort. What may be ok for some won't be for others, but there is no reason why the above set up (if kept within limits)won't be safe.
Never said he needs a 1-ton dually only indicated that the combination they have is something that cannot be towed safely...
Still why can`t it be towed safely? I see no reason to make that statement provided he stays within his weights and has a properly adjusted WD hitch with sway control.
I towed a 25foot Award that weighed in at 5000lbs ready to travel. I towed it with a 95 Explorer 4dr with the old 4.0L with 3.73`s. it did a great job here in the flat Midwest. I had load range "C" tires on it. I wouldn`t have taken it into the mountains, but enjoying the area up to 500 miles it was great! and was very stable.
So don`t say something is unsafe when it`s not!
