Wranglers are the best for simplicity of towing and versatile in all terrain when it's time disconnect and go. Auto tranny's included, but it must be a 4 x 4. The later model JK series are the best all around and don't even have a steering lock to contend with. They also can utilize COOLTECH's plug and play wiring harness that's just too easy for wiring up the toad's lights. We use a DEMCO base plate and the READYBRUTE/ELITE for the rest, which includes a very simple and effective non-elect surge braking system as well. The W unlimited, has a curb weight of about 4200lbs and is pretty heavy for our coach. Still it does exceptionally well, except for long 6% mountain grades and in which case, we must be careful of the transmission temperature, otherwise go at 25mph in low gear or disconnect and drive it over the top. We did top Donner's Pass without incident, coming out of Sacramento this past summer.
Just weigh the coach loaded and do the math with it's GCWR rating if you have any concerns.
Our Jeep is also DW's daily driver and mall crawler, so it's all good.
