Agree, distractions while driving have gotten worse.
Years ago when I commuted daily, I would see drivers reading the paper, putting on makeup, eating cereal, etc while driving. One lady seemed to tailgate while eating her cereal and I got tired of it. I kept an eye on her and when she looked down to get a bite, I touched my brake pedal (did not slow down, only activated brake lights). When she looked up, she saw the brake lights and jumped on her brakes and spilled her cereal.. I laughed all the way to work, never did see her eating again during the commute..
