always such a hurry. speeding is all about "me first", for the current generation or previous generation
I don’t speed because it’s me first, I speed because I think the speed limits are a hair too slow and I like to go faster, always have.
I don’t have to lead the pack that’s not my goal I just like driving faster.
The real shame is there is a common belief that speeding is the ultimate sin, and not safe at all. But driving 10 below with your nose buried in your phone texting is widely practiced and also widely ignored (rarely ticketed). Why? Because speeding is easy to catch with a radar gun, but inattentive driving is far more difficult to ticket.
Didn't work out well for those in the wreck I witnessed mid last week, when a man driving 50+ MPH rear ended a young lady that was nearly stopped in traffic. Pushed her car into 3 more cars ahead of her. He wasn't driving above the speed limit, but wasn't paying any attention, either that or had suicidal tendencies.
When I drive, I put 100 percent of my attention on the road. I just wish my fellow commuters in Houston would offer up even 50% of their attention for the road. Seems like the least they could do.
