Yee ha, dodged the Lipitor bullet again!
Had my yearly a couple days ago. The telephone rings yesterday, and it's the doctor's PA. "Mr. M we have the result of your lipid panel. Your cholesterol is 272 which is high. Your LDL is 170, but your HDL is 89 which makes your ratio high enough not to warrant medication."
Triglycerides were 66.
Don't know where I get these numbers. Both parents and sister had very low HDL and were on meds. My dad's four brothers all had bad numbers as do my cousins. Guess a lifetime of exercise, good diet and normal weight are paying off at 64.
