After several decades of towing I've only had one incident that wasn't found in any other driving. I topped a hill a got hit by a serious gust of wind. Steady winds aren't that bad, it's the gusts that will get ya. Hit the trailer brakes and it jumped back in line. I believe the dreaded sway bars helped tremendously in keeping me out of the ditch. In most of these types of situations, wind, hydroplane etc. can be readily dealt with using ONLY the trailer brakes. Learn where that handle on the controller is and practice with it so you won't have to search for it in a panic. Like others have said, watch your speed, leave lots of space between the other vehicles, don't ride for miles next to a big rig and keep your stuff in tip top shape. Relax, there's really nothing to it.
