going down the columbia river gorge, cruising at 60, towing a 35' trailer, 18,000lbs, 60ft overall length, come up near an on ramp, driver speeds up to get to merge, then at the very last minute hits his breaks and tries to pull in in front of me. I hammered the brakes, thank god for the denali IBC, stabilitrack, reese dual cam and ABS. tires were howling like you wouldn't believe, the collision avoidance warning flashed like crazy, probably missed him by inches. Good news is that the trailer and truck tracked as straight and true as you could imagine.
Even after he cut in front, he kept slowing down to about 30mph, before he finally decided to get going. Don't think he ever looked in the mirror, or paid atttention to my horn.
Luckily no one was directly behind me, or it would likely have resulted in me getting rear ended.
It's amazing to me how many people don't have a clue how to merge onto a highway. Lots just pull into traffic, don't look and are goinng 20 or 30mph slower than traffic.
