I was towing a 37' Open Road 5th wheel with a GMC 2500HD P/U through a construction area on the Florida Turnpike through Ft Lauderdale/. I was doing the speed limit 55 mph in the right lane. When I crested an overpass, there was a vehicle stopped at the bottom of the overpass in my lane with a car stopped in next lane to check on them. I had to swerve across two lanes, in full braking mode to get around them, in rush hour traffic, I might add. The Open Road had the Dexter torsion bar suspension, and while I took the whole road 4 or 5 lanes, I didn't hit anyone and the high 5th wheel trailer didn't roll over. I was real impressed with how my GMC and the Open Road handled it all. I had to pull over to stop shaking once it was over. How I missed a Jeep that was in the inside lane next to the rear of my trailer, I still don't know. Oh, I had a timer based controller then, And I now have a Prodigy, much better, and if I were buying new, I would get a tow vehicle with an integrated brake controller. JMHO
