Taking I40 out of Knoxville, headed toward Asheville one summer around the 4th of July. Slowed to about 55 coming up a hill. Topped the hill only to find everything stopped immediately in front of me. Slammed on the brakes and headed toward the shoulder as I didn't think I could stop in time. Actually stopped about 10 ft from the car in front of me. Glad we sat for a little, as I needed to calm down. Crawled the next 2 miles to the Pigeon Forge exit. If I had only known where we were, I would could have anticipated it.
