We got Cutco when our son sold them one year, and some more when our niece did a couple years later. I've always been happy with them. I actually prefer the straight edged knives to their special serrated edge. As for sharpening, I found that many of the established dealers, the ones who work the shows, have offered to sharpen ours for free, just call them. Might give that a try. And yes, they are pricey.
