Your choice of generatior?

What ever you do, don't go on the cheap and buy a construction site generator. Everyone here will hate you for life.

The smaller 1000/2000 type of portable generator will be much quieter than the all purpose type on wheels that are usually used where noise is not important, like on a construction site or for emergency use.

The easiest to get serviced anywhere in the USA are the ones from Yamaha.

My generator is a pair of solar panels that are unbelievably quiet. I often forget that they are sitting on the roof generating power day in and day out. Nothing to start and stop and nothing to refuel or repair.

I seldom use the AC as the advantage of having an RV is being able to move it to where the weather is better.

I'm happy with 5 out of 6

2- Honda 2000's
1- Honda 3500
1- Honda 5000
1- Honda 6500

AND 1-Winco 4500

Before you pull the trigger, take a look at Boily generators. I got one that runs my trailer and is quiet for about $1000 and I got the extended run option.

i own a Honda 2000 and it has worked flawlessly for 7 years now.

but if i were in the market for a bigger one, i'd seriously consider the Champion 3100w inverter generator.

Here's mine.
2 Honda's is a great set up but REALLY expensive. Honda 3000i is also a great Gen Set but again pricey. If price is no object by all means have at it. I would say the Yamaha's are comparable but still expensive.
I still have a 4KW Generac that I used for about 4 years. Paid $225.00 on craigslist. It is compact light and while not as quiet as the Honda is acceptable. My current TC has an onboard propane Onan. Plenty quiet safe and starts with the push of a button.
For what the 2 Honda set up would cost you might be able to get a take out onboard system done.

Word to the wize. Stay away from the Honeywell. It is a piece of******made in china. It may look like the Honda but it IS NOT.

Well there it is my opinion which is worth every penny of what you paid for it.

I purchased a Honda 3000is in 2005, and I've never had a failure to start or run. All I do is regular maintenance. Yes it's heavy, but I have a hoist in my garage that makes putting it in the truck very easy. I keep it in the back of the TV with a very heavy duty chain and padlock. I also keep a Honda cover on it when not in use.

The 3000 will run my A/C or my microwave, or my coffee pot, but don't try to run them at the same time.

I have had two Honda EU 2000's for years--great generators. Every few years I do have to take them in for a carb cleaning due to the ethanol in the gas that eventually turns to varnish.

I would say yours is the exception, not the rule. My 3000i will start with 1-2 pulls after sitting for months ( with treated fuel, of course).
