There is very little difference of maintaining a motorhome and toad, than maintaining a truck by itself when you are talking in terms of RVing. The time driving (whether it's between a MH and Toad or truck) is gonna be the same. The only real difference will be registration and insurance (because of two seperate units). But we have found that the difference of insurance on our motorhome is very little different than the insurance on the TT we had. We do save money in gas when we drive the toad around.
As far as layout of Class C's, it depends. There are many different layouts. You will get a completely different layout with a 24' class c than you will with one that is 28' or even 31'. Just the same as 5th wheels.
