your favorite style of rv and why

I am not new to rving. We have had 1 class c and 2 or 3 fivers, but nothing else like a class a or regular trailer. We have nothing now but we are thinking of buying another rv. I didn't like the wasted bed on the class c above the cab. I'm old with aches and pains, not a monkey. I liked towing the fivers, nice, but heavier and more money to buy and I didn't like losing my truck bed to the hitch. We would not be full timers or living in it. Just for trips of a couple of weeks or 3. So, what is your favorite style of rv and why? What would you buy if you had no rv and why. Just wondering Rich

  • Had two TT’s, a class A and now a class C.

The “C” has three steps not five steep steps the class A had (getting to old for those). It has more than one exit. It has a bed in the back with 100+ cu ft. of storage under it. It has a tight turning radius. It takes up two parallel parking places. Last, the cab over is storage or grandkid cave.
  • After too much looking we determined there is no perfect RV for us, they all have trade offs.

As we're in long distance traveling mode these days our current very low maintenance, very small FW works well. We also liked the small C's and larger B's but having the 4x4 truck means we can explore pretty much anywhere. I do miss the covered bed.

For full or part timing, some thing bigger like an A, bigger FW, or maybe a condo rental.

    For backcountry boondocking a TC.

For local camping a small TT or Hybrid.

    So I need four.
  • Truck Conversion Motorhomes....Class 8......Super C......whatever you want to call them, to me, they are the best option......

    Power, Reliability, Servicability...........Comfort......
  • I have had nothing but pull behind TT's. sounds like you are talking yourself into buying a pull behind with you OP
  • We have had tents, popups, pickup campers and TT. Right now we have a 33 ft TT and an Excursion. We like it and it's paid for. If we get something else it will be paid for.
  • I have a 30ft bumper pull toy hauler. If i were to do it over I'd probably go with a fiver toy hauler with a separated garage for the ease of pulling on long trips. I would stay with the toy hauler though for sure. It makes sense for me in that I have a RZR that I put in the back but even with out a "toy" it sure is nice to have the ramp in the back. Makes it especially easy loading for long trips and easy to unload when you get back.
  • I love my class C. I love my cabover bed, but if I reach the point where I can't use it as my bed, I can move to the flip-over couch/bed and use the cabover for storage. I like the ability to use it for day trips. I do short camping trips and it works well for that.

If I were doing sightseeing type trips, I'd go with a small TT, so I could drop the TT at the campground and head into town with the vehicle.
  • We have had all types/sizes except for any MHs

We have looked at many MHs and just didn't find a floorplan/layout we liked.

We have a 34' 5vr because we were FT.......wanted the storage, headroom and large truck. I don't fold up in little cars very well.

Next one will be a travel trailer.
Don't need all the storage, they now have lots of headroom and I have the truck.
