That was early on with my backing in skills, it now is usually tuck on to the other side and then the door can open all the way.
Yes, backing it in is a chore, defintely before a cold one, also have found after a long trip, chilling a little before attempting: first get it in sloping driveway, curve it around to side of house, then get it aligned to house (careful roof overhang can hit the TT), then as backing down, get truck back in front of it, get the right angle to back in to cover, to hug the correct side, have to be careful not to hit first brace on shelter, once in currently all great!
Due to my property, 12 foot width was my max, GO BIGGER if you have the room.
