*** Won't fire ****

Question

We have a suburban water heater. I switched from electic to gas the other day and it fired off a couple of times and then nothing. I had this issue before and took apart the brass tube and cleaned it. i also blew through the  other end of the pipe. I was told not to sick anything in the small end. After putting back together, it fired on the first click. It continued to fire until the next day. I am back on electric again. Any ideas? thanks. The water heater is about 7yrs. old

Test the 12v Hi Limit/ECO/Thermostat.  I had to replace mine on a 2-year old Suburban.   I found this document to be a big help.

Are you getting spark? Will it light if you hold a flame in the tube? Check your grounding connections.

Check you continuity on your solenoids.  The one closest to the heater is prone to failure. Here is a link to replacements.Suburban Solenoids

Had the same problem with my Atwood.. Turned out to be the control board in my case..

IF, and I stress IF that is your problem.. May I recommend Dinosaur boards as a replacement provider..Very high quality both in design and workmanship.
