*** Won't fire ****

We have a suburban water heater. I switched from electic to gas the other day and it fired off a couple of times and then nothing. I had this issue before and took apart the brass tube and cleaned it. i also blew through the other end of the pipe. I was told not to sick anything in the small end. After putting back together, it fired on the first click. It continued to fire until the next day. I am back on electric again. Any ideas? thanks. The water heater is about 7yrs. old

  • Before you get to swapping parts check the simple things first. Was the gas line purged of air? How far is the WH from the tanks? Sometimes it takes several cycles of start attempts to get the air out.

Had the same problem with my Atwood.. Turned out to be the control board in my case..

IF, and I stress IF that is your problem.. May I recommend Dinosaur boards as a replacement provider..Very high quality both in design and workmanship.
  • Are you getting spark? Will it light if you hold a flame in the tube? Check your grounding connections.
