Op here....
Got out air compressor. Used my cheap water tank cleaner. The one that has plastic tip, not metal. Was able to slide a piece of vinyl tube over entire tip. Stuck vinyl tube in brass air tube thing moved it all around. Turned on water heater again and it fired off. Heating up right now.
It is absolutely amazing how a spider web can disrupt propane flow.
Course gas pressure is only 0.4 psi (about a whistle worth) but if the fuel/air is not properly mixed NO FLAME
If too little propane (below 2% concentration) no flame
If too much propane (above 10% concentration) no flame
Fairly narrow limit for flame
If there ever is a next time and I can't smell propane...is it alright to put flame near propane comes out of. Just to see if any propane is making the trip to orvise?
To clean the brass tube thing right...Take it off and clean out real good?
I'm also starting refrig/freezer on gas...just a test run to make sure it is alright also.
Guess for now on when I exercise generator once a month, I'll fire up propane stuff also.
