This stereo is more about sound quality than absolute volume
This is absolutely a good thing.
Sometimes, the youngin's that like those big thumping subs find out that you need big amps to drive them and lots of power (think two batteries, 1 farad caps, engine running and the headlights dim).
I have two amps in my truck, a 600W 4 channel and a 1200W single class D. They drive a pair of door sized woofers and tweeters, separate high range tweeters (all through crossovers), and two 10" subs rated to 250W.
I've never had a problem with the audio system affecting the alternator or batteries. I replaced my original Motorcraft battery, last year. It went 10 yrs., one month.
At one time, I also ran a small inverter for my laptop that served as GPS and map source. 10 hrs/day, 6 mos. of service.
