Ran into capacitor longevity on our home central A/C. We had a failure, and I think it was simply old age. The capacitor, I mean... Replacement cap just didn't run long. Went to a different appliance parts store and the countergirl said "well that one was only rated for XXX hours; ours is YYY hours." Back to old age: I don't remember the details of her explanation.
