Why not use a Progressive Dynamics 9160.. 5 more amps, fixed voltage (Adjustable with modification)
you can also get many very fine 13.6 volt supplies, very heavily filtered, assorted amps, from places like DX Engineering, Cheap Ham dot com And such. DX Engineering will have it on a truck tonight if it's ordered early enough in the day. (But I think they are high price)
So they are made to power ham radios.. If you get one make sure the CONTINOUS rating is high enough. Some of those are like 80 amps PEAK or 80 amps 30% duty cycle.
(80 was chosen cause that is MY Progressive Dynamics 9100 converter.. Plus wizard.. just in case you wonder.. Does a fantastic job of feeding my Kenwood TS-2000, No battery required. )
