Almot.. I can not speak to his RV but in mine the power leads to the main fuse box can safely haul 80 amps, they are seriously THICK (Way bigger than 10 ga, closer to 4 or six ga) that is where he tapped in his 12ga.
NEVER hook a larger "Load" wire (The wire from the fuse box to the device) to a smaller "Supply" (The wires to the fuse box from the battery/converter) less you really love visits from firemen.
Examples
Battery==4ga====fuse==12ga GOOD
Battery--12ga----fuse---8ga BAD
