120 Volt receptacles in Motorhome

The problem is over for now. I do think the problem is in the pedestal. Just to be sure I shall replace the plug when I get back home on Tuesday. I have ordered a Camco 50-Amp Power Grip Replacement Male Plug.

Unless you have something plugged into the pedestal GFCI it should not trip (less you press the test button) nor should it affect your RV at all.

Possible there is a wiring issue in the post that is causing all the problems.

I'd guess that the pedestal GFCI caused some kind of electrical transient which effected your rig. It sounds like your rig is OK.

You are correct. The GFCI's in the coach tripped again. I went to the pedestal and had to reset their 15 amp GFI, yet I am running 50 amp. This is weird....

The most likely cause was the pedestal plug due to high usage. Second most likely is your cord plug.

Thank you all for your valuable input. Yesterday the 2 GFCI's would not reset.
Today I changed over to 30 amp at the park pedestal and then back to 50 amp. went inside and was able to reset both GFCI's All is now up and running. Maybe it is a fault in one of the power legs as wa8yxm suggested. Any ways, thank you all again. I have resolved many problems over the years with the help of this forum.

Additional. The water heater did you measure voltage or is it just "NOT working on electric" There are several reasons for the latter.

On outlets.. If the specific outlets NOT working are Kitchen, Patio, Over the dining tabel, and bathroom.. Check the GFCI, (usually in bathroom) it may be tripped.

Let me guess. 50 amp RV?
The reason I say this is 50 amp rigs have two power "legs" and you may have lost one leg.. tHIS CAN BE DUE to a tripped breaker (main) in your RV or at the park pedistal or at the park main service box (Distribution panel) or a bad wire or several other issues.
If your RV is properly wired then when this happens ONE A/C will work, the other will not.


Page 2: A non-joke I often tell is this, Many RVers have a few screws loose.

Here are SOME of the loose screws I have found in my RV.

Power inlet: (one screw on one leg causing what you see)
Circuit breakers.. Several in my RV one took over 3 Full Turns to tighten (ouch, fire hazard in fact).

And on another rv ALL SIX screws inside the Marinco outlet (And on still another just one, the neutral).

And I've seen bad connections in the park power pedestal and main distribution panel.

And you must remember when reading this.. I DO NOT DO THIS FOR A LIVING... If I did, I'd have much larger numbers of rigs I've worked on.

I vote for not enough information is being provided by the owner.

Another vote for a tripped GFCI.
