Aren't CFLs becoming obsolete and replaced by LEDs? I don't like the CFL warm up time.
CFLs are STILL cheaper than equivalent LED versions per lumens.
Early LEDs where not only super expensive but downright unreliable and way over hyped in brightness (I remember the first one I bought was rated as 40W incadescent equivalent in lumens and cost $15.. It came nowhere near that, in fact a 7W incadescent night light bulb was brighter!)
My first LED lasted a whole week before it gave up..
Fast forward to now days, LEDs have vastly improved in brightness and life, cost has come down dramatically ($3-$4 for 40W-60W equivalents).
The STORES are "phasing out" CFLs by not reordering hence reducing available shelf space for them..
You can still find plenty of CFLs for sale ONLINE, stores not so much..
But as far as CFLs warming up, yeah, never cared for that especially when in a unheated garage or outdoors.
