My issue is this: CFLs emit light in all directions. They light up the ceiling and upper parts of walls every bit as good as they do floors, living and work areas. Neither the rig nor the casita has a reproduction of the Sistine Chapel on the ceiling so I could care less about "lumen-enating" the high reaches.
For living areas that have the room to do so I prefer indirect dimmable lighting (tough to do in an RV.
What I really would like to see is an illuminating dimmable 2 ft square panel. Thin with even light dispersion. Don't want much, do I?
