To do "whole house" you have to put the converter on its own breaker to use it as a switch so the receptacles and lights stay live when the converter is off. Or you can insert a switch on the black wire for the converter before it goes to the shared breaker.
You have to really really decide what to run with the inverter. No dithering! You can go with a smaller inverter if you only run the MW etc from a generator, or you can run everything from inverter, but now you need a big one.
You have to have a place to put the inverter. If you can't get it near the batteries, there is no sense going for a big one because it won't work on long wires. But a smaller inverter will run on longer wires.
