Only a foolish or ignorant person is going to try and outguess which chips you have. Variances are legion to the point of confusion. You, yourself, needs to sit down with a digital hand-held ammeter and test one fixture at low battery voltage then again and high converter voltage.
I'm a meany...but I am strict about education and learning. Think you can rustle up enough energy to roll-your-own?
That's fine. I'm not going to try to drain my battery down to low voltage, test, charge it and test, compare it, etc. Not a reasonable scenario for me to set up here.
That's why I was asking for a learned opinion from someone with a lot of posted experience in the area. Thought it might tie into your recent posts.
