I've been a power electronics designer my entire life. My designs are in automobiles, military vehicles, space vehicles and aircraft. I understand electronics.
The biggest problem with installing a tv like Visio in a RV is the shock it is subjected to. The tv isn't designed for that.
As for over-voltaging the tv, the 12V input just powers voltage regulators within the tv. The regulators provide the power to critical circuits.
